And Then the Bad News...

The restaurant will be closed from October 14-21 (so we can take a vacation). Regular hours will resume on October 24. Buy extra this weekend! Fill your fridge!

A Weekend of Good Causes

On Friday, October 12th, the Pizza Shop and Dry County Brewing Company will be participating in Habitat's Dine and Donate. A portion of all sales on Friday will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.

And on Saturday, October 13th, a portion of all sales will be donated to Spruce Pine Main Street's Central Park Project.

Now you've got two more great reasons to have pizza and brews this weekend.

Asheville's Beer City Guide calls us a "Gem!"

Elise Carlson of Asheville's Beer City Guide visited the Pizza Shop and Dry County Brewery during the recent N.C. Mineral and Gem Show, and tried a flight.

"In Spruce Pine for the gem show, I stumbled upon a gem of a brewery," she writes. "None of the small-batch brews we tasted at Dry County Brewing can be called run-of-the-mill. They all have distinguished characters which I can’t quite compare to anything else I have tried. I was impressed that the tiny mineral town of Spruce Pine had such an accomplished brewery... The pesto-eggplant pizza we enjoyed was awesome also..."

Thanks, Elise! We're glad you enjoyed your visit. Come back soon!

Dry County Quizzo Winter Tournament

Calling all triviots! The Pizza Shop is hosting its first-ever Dry County Quizzo Tournament, starting February 9th. Here's the deal:

The tournament runs four weeks--February 9 through March 1.

The tournament is limited to ten teams. Non-tournament teams are still welcome to play along.

Tournament teams choose one name to use throughout the championship.

Each team may have up to six players per night, but players may change from week to week.

Entrance fee for each team is $30.

Proceeds pay for the tournament trophy first; the remainder goes to a charity of The Pizza Shop's choice.

Teams are guaranteed tables for the four weeks of the tournament.

The team with the most overall points at the end of the four weeks will be crowned WORLD CHAMPIONS OF TRIVIA.

Glory and adulation await. Are you in?

To sign up, see the hosts at trivia night Thursday, February 2, or Thursday, February 9, or e-mail Alan at bigcheese@alangratz.com.
